Catching up! I finally get to post again. I haven't been able to go to my dashboard since things have been changed. I could read blogs, but not post. After much frustration and downloading of things I can again get there. Here are several things that have been happening in my life and tonight Alair is in a play at her school and soon I will post about that.
Kim is on the board of one of our local cemeteries. So in the spring board members and their families and other concerned citizens gather on a Saturday morning and pick up branches and get rid of leaves and other debris and just make it look nice. My Mom and Dad and Grandma and Grandpa Gehrke are buried there. Kim and I will be there also. Alair and Claire were fascinated with the whole idea of death. Alair wanted to know if we could "unbury" them and look at them. Hmmmm. They did say they wished they had known them.
Alair and Claire had their dance recital and did very well.
We had a shower for Ashley at our home. It was so much fun! We played a couple games and one was a purse scavenger hunt. That was a hoot. I couldn't believe what some people have in their purses. This was a Pampered Chef shower, so Ashley had to help demonstrate cooking. I made all the girls and granddaughters aprons to wear. Aren't they great?
May 19th is the anniversary of the day we legally adopted Alair. 5 years ago this year. We took her to see Pippi Longstocking at the Children's Theatre Company and out to eat at The Black Forest Inn. It was a beautiful day and we ate outside by a fountain. The food was great and even picky Alair ate German bratwurst. The play was fantastic. Alair laughed alot.
Here is a picture of Ellie Mumme in the dress I made for her for Easter. I love red!
Louise and Al gave us a gift certificate to The Ranchero restaurant in Webster for Christmas. We decided to use it for our anniversary. The food was wonderful. I had a crab cake for an appetizer and it was really good. The prime rib we had was done perfectly. I like mine very rare and it was. They serve German food also and next time we will try that. We both highly recommend going there. Make reservations.
